Girl with Curves‘ Tanesha Awasthi is a curvy style star to watch — and she’s looking lovely in the recent Refinery29 photoshoot preview, we might add. We’re glad to add Tanesha to our must-read list: she adds depth to daily style blogs on Tumblr with a great variety of thrifted and low-cost pieces, plus plenty of color. She’s curvy, she’s fun, and she’s going places. We first noticed her getting mentions on Carmakoma’s blog months back, but she headed for the big leagues with mentions in Marie Claire and now Refinery29 — plus a coveted trip on the Tumblr-sponsored NYFW excursion this fall.

Tintamar Bag Lining horz Save Your Bag, Save Your Money

People are already shopping for the holidays — are you? This time, we’re looking at opportunities to save ourselves some money so we can actually buy people gifts this time around (insert requisite economy-related grumbling here). Instead of tossing bags that look worse-for-wear, we should be making an effort to keep them somewhat fresh and usable. After all, it’s fall, and after this? Brace yourselves; we’re looking at nothing but cold weather and snow up ahead, and purses must be in tip-top shape to last the season. Indispensables follow!

There’s a lot of bookmarking going on here at StyleCrave, and that includes pieces for the ladies. We’re looking at buttery ankle boots in the whirlwind of spring fashion that we’ll sadly be unable to wear until the next warm spell. With this sad news in mind, we’re gravitating towards some very fashionable booties that do have a link to fashion week after all — Surface to Air’s two pairs, shown after the jump, were on display during the New York shows and are the type of dream booties that we sincerely hope to buy this F/W 2011-12.

Fall Wear: The Black Watch

Black Watch Wrapped Fall Wear: The Black Watch

Brown leather can get sweaty, ratty, or stained, and while a watch with a brown band is a wardrobe necessity, it needs to have its darker, handsome cousin around — the all-black watch. A black band and a black face aren’t groundbreaking, but if it gets a fresh new look (see above), then you’re on the right track. A brilliant watch, black or otherwise, should be worn more than one way, and this one can be wrapped, rolled, and wound with the best of them (although it’s probably leading the pack, anyway).

I don’t know how anybody does it. But with the official ‘Get the Look’ app for the new comedy I Don’t Know How She Does It, it’s now easier to find out how the ‘She’ from the critically acclaimed bestseller by Allison Pearson actually does do it – which no one really knows how she actually does it. Or something like that.

However, the ‘Get the Look’ app for the comedy starring Sarah Jessica Parker – opening September 16th! – provides a great, mobile opportunity to get all the cool fashion from the film.

Leica uniform experiment camera 01 Uniform Experiment x Leica D Lux 5
I was more excited about Leica and uniform experiment’s collaboration because of the great brown leather pouch than I was about the camera, but that’s just me. The whole package is exciting, scheduled for release on May 11th, and looks great. That grained leather pouch has a traditional Leica logo scrawled across the front. Clipped on either side of the small, oblong bag, the Leica camera pouch has a long strap with self stitching and silver findings. Clip it on and go… although I recommend not wearing it by itself if you are have a touristing moment somewhere rougher than your average neighborhood (personal experience!). A little camera bag can be spotted a mile away.

Ray-Ban for Brooks Brothers

brooks brothers ray bans Ray Ban for Brooks Brothers

Ray-Ban and Brooks Brothers have now released their sunglasses collaboration, Ray-Ban for Brooks Brothers. The collection for men is represented by two styles, the Wayfarer and the aviator, both with the BB#1 repp stripe on the arms. The repp stripe made so famous by Ray-Ban was actually based on British club ties and regimental gear, but was reversed in the ’20s for an American spin. A little bit of Americana favored by the Ivy League types is back! If you do like that special repp stripe, you’ll probably dig the Wayfarers, since the thicker arms allow a lot more of the stripe to show than those of the aviators.
